THOUGHTS IN MY MIND: Anti social internet and a miserable internet
Something I miss about the internet back then, Is that people used to be more....well communicative and more talking, I really liked how everyone was so open to talking, how normal it is, to just run up to someone, dm them, and they'd talk to you back, It felt like a whole level of exploration, like there was a whole world inside a screen, It didn't feel like just a soulless landscape like it is today, It felt magical to find so many people wanting to make friends
Nowadays, I tend to find people to be well....anti social, weird, just anxious, lazy, bored, tired, and much more, people nowadays are more just well, not open to talking a lot, not open to reading essays of text, we have this shift of culture, where people just don't feel right, people seem to be more rude, more like sterile, and even some who'd act the same and you wouldn't tell the difference
People....People have changed a lot, and its definitely not an upgrade
Most interactions I had people online in the modern era, always felt one off, the weird thing is, I always connected to people older than me, I'm 21 as of writing this, some of my closest and oldest friends where always people in their 30-40s, you put me with my own age group or younger, and trust me, our conversation won't last at all, I feel like my generation of people seem to be more burnt entirely, as if them watching short form reel content, and doom scrolling on twitter, reading the latest, discord pedo drama, had just made people more, anxious or well dumber
People can't comprehend long term conversations, people can't comprehend genuine friendships, everything has to be a "agree with me or nothing" or "relationships or nothing" type of scenarios
We formed a toxic culture where people, don't like to interact much, of course I'm not saying everyone is, there are still people who are normal, who are more exactly social, and hell I know a few, but its not well...enough
It doesn't help that this world had become busier, if you are someone on the states, you are thinking that things are not good right now financially....which is true I'm sorry about that, people tend to be more focused on work, more well busy as things get harsher in this world, and thats a story I wanna get into in another post in my blog, but the point is, as people get busier and miserable, people become more anti social, I think this year, people are way more miserable than usual to the point even escapism doesn't hit them enough
I mean, we are blurring the lines between reality and escapism, go to any subreddit right now, especially to a popular fandom like sonic, deltarune, or terraria, and now as of writing this, 2/4/2026, Your going to find art of fictional characters, fighting ICE, I'm not making this up people, this is real.
I think people just can't leave the idea of reality and fiction together, and tend to always blend them, at least the terminally online, It starts reminding people, over how horrible the world is, over how, everything is miserable, over how everything sucks.
It became the norm to be depressed, and worry about things like college or education...well it has been but its just stronger now, think the point is, the internet had become horrible, and too attached to reality
And heres why this supports my point, and why I don't want the internet to be attached to reality, ready?

Yes, you heard it right, ladies and gentlemen, back in the era of no social media, or light social media, people weren't as political as always, and this made way for peaceful interaction all over, and people to feel generally less miserable, because, well, your not giving powers to random political influences, your not letting the so called "ELITES" take advantage of you through political divide, people had views all over, and thats fine thats what makes us humans, but to constantly be in a eternal mental battle over that just sucks
WOKE VS uhhh.... NON WOKE? All of that crap jazz, drawing fictional characters in political situations, constant arguing, having this mental battle all over, its just tiring, canceling someone over something they don't like? sweethearts, your letting the "ELITES" win by this divide
Now, I don't wanna go further on this since this is saved up for the guide, but what I'm saying is that, is the blur of reality is making people more miserable, as if they have no way to escape, and thats true, I think back then, people weren't as political as they where, and thats fine, there where political parodys and websites, but those weren't as intrusive, and you had the choice of visiting or not visiting.
Its why we are here in the first place, I think politics and porn had really ruined people's minds a lot.
I think the greatest escape nowadays for the modern internet user to be less miserable is to cut off social media entirely, or use it in limitation, because nowadays, social media, isn't as social as it is, I'll be honest its all number games and to drive ads and political views down the throat of someone, you want twitter for popculture news? just go follow gamerant or something, dexerto has its own website.
Point is, the world was always in a level of miserable, but It wasn't in the reach of the public up until now, now more people are miserable because well, politics sears into everything and people aren't much more powerful to resist things like short form content, people had become too addicted.
Its what drives people to be these, well anti social tensed weirdos, who are anxious over they are talking with, and so on, its where it gets a bit you know out there.
I think really, involving politics in everything just ruins everything for anyone, its why people are more miserable in the first place, if people wanna be less miserable, your going to hate my advice but again
Try to cut off social media, as much as you can, or limit it, because well, trust me, there is nothing worth it look for anymore aside from some few fanart, still the internet is abit too in the reality zone now, that its not as easy to leave from it or its political takes, so its always better to learn, know what to avoid and adapt, see things with clearer lenses, and try to get more intelligent, you wanna defeat the system? you need to know how to protest against it
Also a small message to those people, Its very disrespectful to draw fictional characters "protesting" or supporting a foreign country as in some form of "support" its the most american white thing, I had ever seen and it tells enough
Anyways theres that, and back to the anti social aspect
I think I had witnessed alot of people on my discord delete their accounts out of frustration and quit the internet, which I respect their decision but its just sad, and it shows what the world or the internet is going through, I think the internet is amazing and it gives people more access to knowledge than usual, but its understandable to see people leave or ditch it over mental health issues, its making people more miserable than happy, and well, it can only get worse than there, but thats where you come to play and do what you can, in the end, whatever falls down, comes a new and better, thats the cycle of life and death, reincarnation and much more
